A
recent survey revealed that some of the country's largest and most
prestigious companies have a bad reputation when it comes to customer
service. As a result of this, most of these companies experience high
employee turnover rates.
For
about the past four years, Bank of America has topped several surveys
for being one of the worst customer service companies in the country.
Although it is one of the largest banking systems in the world,
according to some customers the company sucks when it comes to customer
service. This is one of the reasons why the bank has been losing
customers over the past several years. In regards to the bank's customer
service staff, some former employees have complained about low pay and
inadequate training. This in turn has resulted in frustrated employees
and a negative work environment.
Another
company that has been consistently rated as being one of the worst
customer service companies to work for is U. S. Airways. For several
years the airline has ranked near the bottom of the list when it comes
to customer service. Customer complaints have included long wait times,
frequent flight delays, and rude customer service agents. As a result of
all these complaints, U. S. Airways employees frequently have to deal
with frustrated customers. Which is why U. S. Airways is not considered
an ideal place to work.
It
may be hard to believe, but Twitter also made this survey list. Despite
being considered a leading online technology company, according to
several surveys the company needs to work on its customer service. One
of the main issues users complain about is the company's long response
time when it comes to correcting problems with their account. Customers
have also complained about the lack of account security the company
provides, which they believe is why so many accounts get hacked. From a
shareholders perspective Twitter might be considered a great company,
but not so much if you work in their customer service department.
Another
company that surprisingly made the survey list was Facebook. Just like
Twitter, Facebook has also received a lot of customer service
complaints. These complaints range from long response times to suspended
accounts. According to some Facebook users, it is almost impossible to
connect with a customer service representative. Many Facebook users have
also complained that some customer service reps are not as
knowledgeable as they should be about company changes and updates.
Having this level of customer frustration can only result in a bad
working environment.
Other companies featured in the survey include Comcast, Cox Communications, Charter Communications and Time Warner Cable
